This volume is dedicated to His Royal Highness Prince El-Hassan bin Talal of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan whose long-standing support of archaeology in Jordan has earned both admiration and deep respect. It examines results of the excavation in the Administrative complex, Western defense system, the Lower southern terrace and the Eastern shelf at Tall al-‘Umayri, which were found in the 1992 season. The discussion of the Objects and Pottery include a preliminary report on the clay figurines, a re-examination of Cylinder Seal No. 3021 and two unique inscriptions. The reports include stratigraphic information, section drawings and relevant pottery plates. Detailed photographs and line drawing makes the identification of the excavation phases clear. The pottery discussion compares the ‘Umayri ceramics with other similar forms from MB II to Late Iron II/Persian found elsewhere in the Levant. The variety of objects found at ‘Umayri show the diversity of human activity throughout the periods represented. Contents include: An Overview of the 1992 Season of the Madaba Plains Project at Tall al-‘Umayri, Larry G. Herr, Excavation and Cumulative Results at Tall al-‘Umayri, Larry G. Herr; The Administrative Complex, John I. Lawlor; The Western Defense System, Douglas R. Clark; The Lower Southern Terrace, Timothy P. Harrison; The Eastern Shelf, Russanne D.
