“The Spade Confirms the Book Revisited” by Dr. Randall Younker, with a response by Dr. Lawrence T. Geraty.

2017 marks 50 years since the beginning of the Madaba Plains Project, a major milestone in the Adventist archaeological community. This lecture will revisit Siegfried H. Horn’s landmark publication The Spade Confirms the Book, and will examine the role of archaeology in Biblical studies today.

Horn Lectureship Series event is entitled “Characteristics of Cultural Production in the Iron Age Southern Levant” by Dr. Terje Stordalen, Faculty of Theology, University of Oslo. The lecture will be held on April 3 at 7:00 PM in the Seminary chapel. Co-curricular credit will be offered. This event is free and open to the public.

The next Siegfried H. Horn Lectureship Series event is entitled “Archaeology, Women, and the Early Church” by Dr. Randall Younker. The lecture will be held on February 27 at 7:00 PM in the Seminary Chapel. Co-curricular credit will be offered. This event is free and open to the public.
